I have spent some time this summer visiting with my Dad in NC. While there, I borrowed my Mom's old featherweight from my sister to piece these blocks. I have 6 out of thirteen finished. There will be twelve alternative blocks in a Trip Around the World style in a controlled color scheme. The pattern, Steps to the Altar, is from the August 2002 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting - it is from an antique quilt. Now I soon as I finish sewing sequins on flagline costumes, I'll be getting back to this one! Check in with Judy L. to see what other quilters are working on!

You are so brave to be sewing on a machine that isn't yours. I always screw up my quarter inch seam when I do....UGH. I bet the quilt will be a beauty.
ReplyDeleteOh I love these blocks! Can't wait to see them with the others blocks!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what you do with these blocks!
ReplyDeletesewing on sequins? You are multi-talented. luckily my kids did band so I didn't have to make costumes. the blocks are looking good. And I'm with Jo i hate changing machines -- even amongst the machines I own -- because of quarter inch discrepancies...
ReplyDeleteLove your colorful blocks!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them all laid out, sounds so interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Did you enjoy sewing on the featherweight? :)
